We are inviting Expressions of Interest for the permanent full-time position of Block Supervisor within Auckland Council’s Northern Regional Parks farming operations.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role within one of the world’s largest urban farming enterprises. With 1,430 hectares across 19 Regional Parks and a total stock of 6,650 sheep and 1,200 cattle, our farming operations are tailored to support both production and conservation goals.Reporting to the Southern Operations Manager, the Block Supervisor will play a key role in implementing operational plans across our Southern farms.
This hands-on role includes:
- Day-to-day stock and pasture management
- Animal health and seasonal farming operations
- Feed budgeting and record keeping
- Maintenance and development coordination
- Staff training and leadership
- Supporting financial budgeting alongside the Farming Manager

This role has a remuneration range of NZ$80,000 - $86,000 per annum depending on experience and skillset.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will bring proven experience from similar roles, demonstrating your ability with leading and managing staff/teams. With a solid understanding and application of feed budgeting techniques you can navigate the day-to-day of farm life. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating and delivering farm operational plans including improvement and maintenance work. Achieving production targets through stock and pasture management will be a key factor of success within this role.
We will be looking for the following:
- Minimum of 5 years on farm experience with a wide range of farming skills.
- Relevant NZQA Level 4 industry qualification in livestock management, (beef or sheep farming) and/or agriculture management
- Full Drivers Licence Class 1, 2 and 6
- Firearms License
- 2-3 dogs under good control
