We have an opportunity for a full-time permanent Accounts Payable expert within the Accounts Payable Team. 

Our Accounts Payable system is largely automated. The work you do will be less transactional or operational, but rather troubleshooting and working on exceptions that can’t be automated. In this role you will service and provide advice to a wide range of people - Auckland Council employees, ratepayers, councillors, mayor’s office, Chief Executive, creditors, and external customers. 

 

You’ll work across multiple policy interpretations and coaching on the use of purchasing and receipting systems and processes. Additionally, you would be responsible with a mixed bag of tasks such as payments, credit cards, and travel queries or tracking trends and issues to improve internal processes.


He kōrero mōu: About you
To be successful in this role you will have experience in:

 

  • Previous experience (atleast 4 years) with Accounts Payable in similar positions, ideally from within large and complex organisations.  
  • Providing advice on policies and other accounting services procedures and policies
  • Working in high volumes (supplier queries and email management) and thriving under pressure
  • GST requirements of invoices
  • Expertise within SAP ERP systems, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Kofax will be advantageous


You will have the natural ability to develop collaborative and positive working relationships through excellent communication skills and provide effective support across divisions. In this role you must be able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to changing workloads. The ideal candidate will have strategic and analytic thinking and will be able to anticipate next steps for the Accounts Payable team and proactively work on improving service delivery or internal processes. You are driven and passionate about delivering a high standard of customer service.
