He angitūtanga: The opportunity 

 

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is the economic and cultural agency for Tāmaki Makaurau. We deliver world-class events, experiences and programmes that bring people together and showcase Auckland to locals and visitors alike. 

 

We are looking for an experienced Programme Lead, to coordinate Auckland Council’s annual programme of performing arts, major events, city activations and experiences. This is a senior, highly collaborative role working across the council group, cultural organisations and external partners to ensure a joined-up, strategic approach to event planning, investment and delivery. 

 

This is a full time, fixed term contract for 1 year.

He kōrero mōu: About you 

 

You will bring extensive experience leading complex event or programme portfolios, with a proven ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate programmes at scale. You are confident engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, navigating organisational and political complexity with sound judgement and professionalism.  

 

Your strong communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills enable you to bring diverse groups together and drive shared outcomes.  

 

In addition, you should be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori outcomes and bicultural practice, and are able to or willing to learn to pronounce basic te reo Māori and apply tikanga appropriately in your work. 

 

To guide you further, we hope to see a Bachelor’s degree in Events Management, Business or a related field with around 10 years in a senior programme or event leadership role. Experience working in or alongside local government or in other complex organisations will be considered valuable.

Salary Band: I 

 

Salary range $140k - 160k per annum, depending on skillset and experience.
