This is an exciting and challenging time for the talented people at Auckland Unlimited as we bring our new organisation to life and continue our important work delivering cultural vibrancy and economic outcomes for Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. 

 

Consistent ongoing engagement with our key partners and stakeholders is critical, especially for a complex organisation like ours. 

 

We’re seeking an External Relations Advisor to provide maternity cover for a fixed term of 10 months. You’ll work across the business, and act as a point of contact for Local Boards, and other key stakeholder groups through key projects.  

 

Auckland Unlimited undertakes a variety of exciting activity that you will need to help communicate with our key stakeholders. Some examples include: our COVID19 Business Support, Major Events like Pasifika, Diwali and the Elemental programme, our cultural organisations like the NZ Maritime Museum and Auckland Zoo, and supporting our Screen and Visitor industries. 

You will also be responsible for coordinating and improving our engagement with Local Boards; creating and sharing success stories, business-as-usual updates and other engaging, hyperlocal content.

You’re an expert in understanding and working with diverse groups, and providing responsive advice to both internal and external stakeholders.  

 

You are calm, collected, and comfortable answering the hard questions and engaging with people at all levels of seniority. You can track down information and connect the dots to ensure high quality support.   

 

Customer focussed and innovative, you’re naturally inquisitive and always strive to find better ways to do things. Your collaborative approach ensures you develop effective relationships across the Auckland Council Whanau. 

  

 

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer 

 

You’ll be an integral member of our excellent Communications and Marketing team. Your ability to understand and anticipate the needs of our key stakeholders will set you up as the go to for Local Board support, including for digital content and facilitation.  We want someone who shares our passion for clear, consistent and timely communications as well as our passion for Auckland.
