We strive to be at the forefront of waste practices across Australasia and we are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve services and reduce waste going to landfill. To help us on this journey, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Waste Planning Advisor (Internal Council) to join our team and contribute towards Auckland Council's Waste Management and Minimisation Plan! 

The main purpose of this internally focussed role is to coordinate, and where appropriate lead, the development and implementation of strategic WMMP projects across the Council family. In partnership with all Auckland Council departments and Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs), you’ll develop and implement waste policies, plans, targets and procurement practices that minimises the adverse impacts of waste generated by the Council family throughout the Auckland region.

We’re looking for somebody passionate about Auckland, waste minimisation, sustainability and the environment. As this role is focussed on internal stakeholders across the Council family, you’ll have significant previous experience in identifying corporate sustainability or waste minimisation related opportunities across different areas of the business. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to make connections and build relationships.  Great stakeholder management and communication skills are essential in this role, as well as experience in a multi-disciplinary environment of delivering outcomes through community and stakeholder engagement methodologies.
