Casual Fitness Team Member | Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

With our Leisure Centres more popular and busier than ever, our fitness teams play a vital part in ensuring that visitors are kept motivated, interested, and eager to return!

As a Fitness Team Member, you will be helping people achieve their health and well-being goals for all ages and abilities across our diverse community.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Build and maintain strong and positive relationships with members, customers , and stakeholders 
  • Provide clear and accurate information to customers about programmes and services through gym tours, phone calls , emails, and face-to-face enquiries
  • Complete administration duties, these may include membership sign-ups, appointment bookings and tracking TRP interactions
  • Monitor the gym floor for health and safety; this may include but is not limited to cardio and other equipment use, cleanliness and crowd control

This is a casual position. Our center operates 7 days a week. Reliability and commitment to working early, late, and weekend shifts are crucial, and the shift pattern may change according to the business needs.

It goes without saying that you will bring a genuine passion for fitness, health, and wellbeing, along with the skills and motivation to create positive client experiences. As part of a proactive and dynamic team, you’ll be confident engaging with clients and contributing ideas while managing your time and administrative responsibilities effectively.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to deliver high levels of client satisfaction
  • An enthusiastic, positive, and dedicated approach with a strong focus on client engagement
  • The ability to work collaboratively as a team player with a flexible mindset
  • Confidence to ask questions, build knowledge, and use initiative to deliver effective fitness solutions
  • Excellent time management skills and confidence with administrative tasks and processes
  • A current First Aid Certificate (training provided)
  • A recognised fitness-related qualification is preferred but not required.
