He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We're looking for motivated and collaborative Information Analysts to join our team, filling roles due to internal movements and parental leave cover. Our team supports regional biodiversity and biosecurity operations through data management, geospatial services, and digital technologies.

Your work will support planning, operational delivery, and reporting on threatened species and ecosystem protection across the Auckland region and support our community conservation initiatives.  Be part of a programme working to protect our precious natural environment. 

 

As these roles are unique and individual in nature, we will be seeking a range of specific skills, as outlined below: 

  • Required experience with the ESRI suite, e.g. ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online, and ArcPro. 
  • Experience in data management, including spatial analysis, data quality assurance, and data visualization. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data standards and best practices in managing ‘in field’ and desk based geospatial data capture, and a passion for creating a seamless user experience.
  • Preferred background in environmental science, conservation, or natural resource management with field experience, or a demonstrated passion for environmental conservation. 

 

Day-to-day you could expect to work collaboratively on a range of spatial and non-spatial data management tasks and analysis.  You will communicate regularly with council staff to lift understanding of environmental digital systems and data.  To ensure that operational and strategic information needs are met we’ll support your ongoing technical development.

He kōrero mōu: About you
We will be looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline or computer science with a strong interest in conservation
  • Experience in the use of ESRI ArcGIS spatial mapping packages including ArcPro, ArcGIS Online and/or Enterprise
  • Work experience in biodiversity/biosecurity/conservation, database / information management, statistics and geospatial systems, preferably in natural sciences
  • Ability to communicate clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A Full NZ drivers’ licence is required for this role
