WE DELIVER OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS

Te Manawa is Auckland Council’s first integrated facility, bringing together libraries, arts, community and events, and customer services.

We have over 30 fully trained staff who can help customers with their rates inquiry, venue hire booking, assist customers with library services, event and programme information and more.

COMMUNITY AND PROGRAMMES WILL EMPOWER OUR COMMUNITIES

We are looking for people to be part of a team who will engage and encourage community groups to ensure we meet the aspirations of a liveable, thriving and connected community.

Our teams deliver community outreach programmes, services and events which inform, surprise and delight customers.

LIBRARIES ARE A PLACE TO GET INSPIRED

We have an important role to develop and deliver specialist library services, promoting the use of our wide-ranging collections. We're looking for people who enjoy sharing their love for books.

You're a customer service superstar, with a natural ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds.

MAKING GREAT PLACES AUCKLANDERS LOVE

The Community Facilities department plays a vital role in running Auckland / Tāmaki Makaurau. As kaitiaki (guardian) of our community facilities, we are responsible for managing a large portfolio from open spaces to community building. We ensure these facilities efficiently and effectively support the many services of Auckland Council today and for generations to come.

BUILD, MAINTAIN AND RENEW

We believe in using a lifecycle approach to manage our assets which are made up of:

  • Build – Creating new multi-facility premises that contain libraries, community centres and/or leisure centres
  • Maintain – Keeping parks, libraries, venues for hire and toilet blocks clean and tidy
  • Renew – Refurbishing facilities such as libraries, community centres and arts centres.

WHO WE ARE

Formed in 2015, Community Facilities is made up of a wide range of different units. We help inform decision-makers, evaluate commercial opportunities, maintain facilities and deliver strategically significant programmes.

Our vision is to create great places Aucklanders love.
