Contracts Administrator | Auckland Zoo

Date: 07-Feb-2019

Location: West Auckland, NZ, 1010

Company: Auckland Council

  • Combine your contract and financial admin experience with your love of wildlife
  • Work with a group of passionate project managers
  • Permanent, full-time position

Auckland Zoo is Aotearoa's largest home of animals, with over 1,400 individuals across 135 species. Our Capital Programme team is dedicated to realising our ambitious Master Plan which will see the continued redevelopment of much of the Zoo over the next 15-20 years.  From building exceptional habitats for all of our animals, to creating extraordinary experiences for our visitors and ensuring we have the facilities we need to provide for our staff, our team is at the center of it all.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

To support all of this work, we are looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator to provide effective contract coordination and financial administration services relating to our capital expenditure programme.

He kōrero mōu: About you

With your experience in contract administration, you will naturally be highly organised, able to develop strong relationships with key contacts, work autonomously and juggle multiple things at once.

You will have experience with the procurement processes and will be able to use this procurement knowledge and experience to provide advice as and when required on policies, procedures, and guidelines relating to procurement and tendering.

You will also bring your financial administration skills to help us manage our Capital Expenditure by raising CAPEX purchase orders, processing invoices, running financial reports and Capitalising our assets.

Ideally, you will have knowledge of a local government environment and council practices, however, this is not mandatory.

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

We believe, through greater understanding and a deep sense of connection, that people will value the world’s wildlife and commit to ensuring its future. Our development plan will serve to further transform us into a 21st-century zoo specifically designed for this purpose. Your work will ensure the smooth procurement and implementation of important works, and will ensure the continued improvement to the lives of our animals.

This is a role where your work will truly make a difference.  You'll work with a passionate team of Project Managers to bring their ideas to life and contribute to the exciting changes happening at The Zoo.
