He angitūtanga: The opportunity

AIM Services is a leading provider in open space and full facility maintenance services. We are currently looking for two green space assistants to join our team on Great Barrier Island. In this role, maintaining the island’s gardens, tracks and reserves, duties will include general gardening tasks including weeding, weedeating, pruning, mulching, track maintenance, and general maintenance.

He kōrero mōu: About you

Previous work experience in green space labouring roles or a related field and the ability to operate a range of small plant and equipment would be handy. Ability to work in a team and comply with health and safety requirements will be key to your success. Your Strength and Stamina will be tested and hence a good level of fitness and agility is required for this job. You will be required to hold a full manual NZ drivers’ licence. A Growsafe certificate would be a bonus but training will be provided for the right applicant.

You will be joining a hard-working and dedicated team where you will be given the opportunity to grow and improve. AIM Services operate a modern fleet of vehicles, plant and machinery and you will be provided with on-going training and support to help further your career. Both roles are based on Great Barrier Island and the hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday with weekend and afterhours work as and when required.

It is not possible to commute daily to Great Barrier Island and therefore the need to find accommodation on the Barrier is essential.
