Māngere Town Centre Library is part of a vibrant community hub where knowledge, culture, and connection come together. We’re searching for a dynamic and passionate Library Services Lead to drive our services forward and making a real difference in the lives of our community. This is a full time, permanent role, based on site.

Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities

  • Lead a team of specialist librarians to deliver high-quality library services and community programs.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and partners to ensure the library is welcoming, accessible, and meets community needs.
  • Shape library services and practices across the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board area, responding to local priorities.
  • Foster a love of reading, learning, and community connection for people of all ages.

Skills we will be looking for include:

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to inspire and support a team.
  • Strong knowledge of library and information services.
  • Excellent relationship management and community engagement abilities.
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding of te ao Māori and te reo Māori.

Salary: This role is a band H we expect to appoint the successful candidate at a salary of between $103,000 & $120,000 depending on experience & skills.
