Auckland Live and Auckland Conventions Venues and Events are the trusted leaders in performing arts, culture, entertainment, and events investing in and fostering the connections between our communities and creating memories that last a lifetime.  It is New Zealand's only major integrated performing arts centre, underpinned by a commercial conventions business arm. We are a part of the Arts, Entertainment and Events rōpū of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, New Zealand's largest producer of cultural, entertainment, sporting and wildlife experiences, whose work touches the lives of all Aucklanders and visitors to the region.


As custodian to some of the most iconic venues in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland including The Civic, Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall, Bruce Mason Centre, Queens Wharf and Aotea Square, Auckland Live is the home of performing arts and entertainment in Auckland. We present the best of national and international performing arts, conventions, meetings, and entertainment, as well as a range of community-focused programmes that contribute to Auckland being a culturally vibrant city for all.


He angitūtanga: The opportunity:

As a Producer within the Programme Development team, you will be at the centre of the action, working with colleagues right across Auckland Live to plan and deliver a diverse range of projects. If you are the kind of person who thrives on engaging with artists from both community and professional backgrounds, who enjoys the challenge of having multiple projects on the go and who can keep their cool under pressure, then we would love to hear from you.


This role is Fixed Term from September 2022 - May 2023 as a maternity leave cover.


Key responsibilities include:


Planning and delivery of events and programmes through a detailed event end to end process

Contributing to the marketing, audience development and publicity requirements of projects and events.

Developing and managing project budgets.

We are looking for a highly energetic, highly organised self-starter who is passionate about turning ideas into reality and is a positive team player. The successful applicant will have strong knowledge of the creative sector within Aotearoa, and experience in producing theatre projects is highly desirable.
