He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland is New Zealand’s fastest growing region. Tātaki Auckland Unlimited is Auckland’s economic development agency working to improve the economic well being and quality of life for all our people and region.

 

The Economic Places team champions a place based approach to economic development across key areas in Tāmaki Makaurau. We are looking for a strategic advisor to provide evidence based advice to a range of stakeholders including the Auckland Council whanau to identify the economic outcomes in an area and maximise the benefits to the region as a whole. This could include feeding into regeneration projects delivered by Eke Panuku Development Auckland, advising on how we support the city centre to thrive as an economic place through to advising on how we can maximise economic outcomes in places like Drury. The work is varied but the potential for leaving your mark on Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland is great.

 

The role gets you to think about how we plan for the future – ensuring the region has a range of accessible employment locations, meeting the needs of our residents and maintaining our role as the leading regional economy in New Zealand.

Tertiary qualified and with experience in a relevant field you can see an issue, spot the missing pieces, and propose the solution. Crucially, you are a strategic thinker that will help us to get meaningful outcomes from our economic places in Tāmaki Makaurau that support our aspirations as a city.

 

You might be new to local government, but don't let that put you off.  We want your strategic thinking, political nous, communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships.
