He angitūtanga: The opportunity


We have an amazing opportunity for an Investment Specialist to join the team.  In this role you will be part of the Māori Economic Advancement team and you will also work with the Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Investment and International team, offshore partners, central government agencies, other CCOs, industry organisations and private sector providers to:


  • Develop investable Māori business opportunity matches with local and foreign investors in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland

  • Work to collect, curate or create investable opportunities in conjunction with Iwi and Māori businesses

  • Build relationships with industry members, associations, and experts to maintain industry knowledge and expertise

  • To develop close working relationship with local iwi regarding developing business opportunities

  • Develop expansion capital opportunities in conjunction with the rest of the investment team




He kōrero mōu: About you


You will have high level of business acumen and the ability to facilitate business deals.  Ability to earn the respect and gain credibility with Mana Whenua, foreign investors, approved advisors, and central and local government stakeholders across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.


  • 5-10 plus years of experience in related field

  • Strong business and financial industry background

  • Excellent understanding of local iwi and Mana Whenua

  • Experience with international investment or finance experience preferred

  • Extensive experience in investment delivery and maintaining relationships with senior executives

  • Good understanding of international and national capital markets and the Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland investment eco-system

  • Proven ability to achieve results based on agreed performance measures and timelines

  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral

  • Understanding of current issues in the Māori community, intergenerational economic wellbeing, and sustainable prosperity
