Auckland Unlimited (AU) is a council-controlled organisation (CCO) established to enrich the cultural and economic life in Tamaki Makarau.  AU is New Zealand’s largest producer of cultural, entertainment, sporting, and wildlife experiences, and owns and operates the Auckland Art Gallery, Auckland Zoo, the New Zealand Maritime Museum, The Aotea Centre, The Civic and Auckland Stadia, as well as caring for some of Auckland’s most iconic public buildings such as The Town Hall and Queens Wharf.  In addition, AU has a range of partnership relationships with other cultural organisations and a broad mandate to enhance Auckland as a culturally vibrant city for all.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Facilities Management to lead the team responsible for maintaining our extensive property portfolio.  This is a senior management role where you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of facilities management across all of our venues and help deliver on the organisation’s strategic intent.

 

This includes managing and leading a team of facilities managers, building maintenance staff and process & support staff to ensure AU’s assets are safe, well managed and presented, and that our venues operate to defined service levels and community expectations.

 

You will also be responsible for the Property Departments sustainability management function and play a key role in ensuring AU’s sustainability and carbon reduction goals are met across our facilities and venues.   This role reports to the General Manager, Property.

 

 

He kōrero mōu: About you
 

You are a leader with excellent mentoring and coaching skills together with strong practical and strategic facilities management experience across a diverse range of facilities. You will have experience in developing facilities management plans and operational outcomes in a business or government environment.  This role will require you to be able to identify and implement best-practice and continuous improvement initiatives and work alongside the Head of Capital Programmes and Head of Asset Management to shape and influence the capability and reputation of the Property Department.

 

You have demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-organisational workstreams involving multiple stakeholders and be able to provide asset and facility services for all of our business brands and rōpū accross the wider organisation. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills including being able to prepare clear reports and presentations to various stakeholders including the Auckland Unlimited Board and Executive.

 

You will have practical experience in the use of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and demonstrate how they are effectively applied to support asset management and facilities management operations.

 

You will have some procurement and contract management experience, having previously led or worked within multi-dimensional outsourced service contracts.
