He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Watercare Services Ltd (Watercare) requires two new directors to join the board in 2019.

The organisation is focused on providing its core services – water supply and wastewater treatment and disposal – whilst meeting the challenge of a changing environment.

To that end, it is committed to working with a range of stakeholders to combat climate change and its impact. Health, safety and sustainability of water supply is key, and Watercare’s asset management strategy details $5.7 billion in projects that have been planned and sequenced for the next decade.

As part of Watercare’s Strategic Transformation Programme, technology upgrades and data capture capability will create opportunities for greater engagement with customers.

Customer expectations are being continually shaped by a desire for convenience and the ability to self-serve. It is recognised that Watercare’s systems and processes can be improved to help it better meet customers’ needs and experience. Technology and innovation have an enormous role to play in the Company’s evolution.
