We have an exciting opportunity for a risk practitioner to join our Auckland Council Risk and Assurance team as a Risk Advisor. This is an exciting role where you will be a key contributor in helping to create a culture of professional risk management within Council.

You will have the opportunity to lead the delivery of risk management activities throughout the organisation, working across a number of business units and key groups including senior managers, executives and other important stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading risk management in some key projects and programmes including developing an organisational risk register and facilitating workshops for the identification, assessment and reporting of key risks and controls.


You will provide regular monitoring reports to relevant stakeholders including the Audit and Risk Committee and Executive lead team members. You will have the opportunity to influence across the organisation to drive high performance and best practice in risk management.



 He kōrero mōu: About you


Degree qualified, you have proven experience in a large organisation working with stakeholders at all levels and are adept at putting customers at ease with your knowledge of risk management.


Alongside sound knowledge of risk management methods, processes and procedures and experience in evaluation, problem solving, planning and policy development, you will also be familiar with risk frameworks and systems. The ability to interpret and have data analysis experience is desirable.


You will be comfortable using Microsoft office software including Microsoft teams.


You will have experience with commercial risk analysis, insights and possess sharp risk acumen. The ability to collaborate across council with executives and other stakeholders will be the key to your success.


A team player and collaborator you will be a Risk champion. You may have been involved in managing risk and risk conversations over the last few years. If this sounds like you then we want to hear from you.
