He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is New Zealand's largest visual arts experience. We are looking for dynamic and outgoing individuals to work as Gallery Assistants in our visitor experience team from mid-April 2019.
Gallery Assistants are a customer focused team. You will be the welcoming and informative face of the Gallery, as well as fulfilling a range of other duties including working on events and assisting with visitor programmes.
We currently have the following opportunities available:
Permanent, full-time: 40 hours per week, either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5pm.
Permanent, part-time: For these roles, you must be available at least 3 days per week, including at least one weekend day. Hours are not fixed and will vary based on your availability week to week.
Casual: For the casual positions you must be available to work on an 'as required' basis, including nights and weekend days.
He kōrero mōu: About you
To succeed in these roles, you will have a passion for customer service, love sharing your enthusiasm for art with others, thrive on working as part of a team and have a sound knowledge of art history, and in particular, New Zealand art.
To secure one of these highly sought after roles you must:
- Have an arts qualification or be studying towards one, or have relevant gallery/museum experience.
- Be able to work at least 3 days per week, including at least 1 weekend day.
- Have proven front line customer service experience.
- Be able to start work on the 16th of April
