Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is the home of art for Auckland, its people and visitors, and a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Gallery's purpose is to be a creative catalyst for art and ideas, offering transformational experiences that strengthen and enrich our communities.

 

We are looking for a skilled Exhibition Designer to bring ambitious, innovative, and engaging exhibitions to life - from concept through to delivery.

 

This is your chance to collaborate with curators, artists, and project teams to create meaningful visitor experiences through exceptional design. Working as part of our dynamic Collections & Exhibitions team, you will contribute directly to the Gallery’s outstanding programme, designing exhibitions and displays that amplify our storytelling and bring our collections to life.

 

This is a permanent, full-time position of 40 hours per week.

 He kōrero mōu: About you

 

  • We are looking for a creative and detail-driven designer who is passionate about visual arts
  • With a background in exhibition, spatial, or architectural design, you’re confident taking concepts from initial sketches to fully realised installations.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with project teams to deliver engaging and accessible experiences for diverse audiences.
  • You have a strong technical understanding of materials, finishes and fabrication
  • You’re very proficient producing detailed documentation for tender and construction with applications such as SketchUp Pro, AutoCAD and ArchiCAD
