Lifeguard (Network Support Team Member) | North Shore and West Auckland
We are looking for 2 highly motivated and capable candidates to join our Network Support Team.
This is an exciting hybrid opportunity where you will get to develop leadership skills working as a lifeguard and as a customer service representative.
As a Lifeguard (Network Support), you will:
• Provide cover for planned leave and training for our regular employees
• Be rostered on a variable schedule across sites in the Lifeguarding and Customer Support functions
These permanent part-time opportunities are 22 and 24 hours a week, working on a variable roster across our North Shore and West Wave pools and leisure centres. Working on a variable roster (fortnightly changes) from 5am to 10pm. You will be required to work at least one weekend day.
He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for people of age that are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others. To become a lifeguard with Auckland Council as the first step you will need to be able to pass this test:
- Swim 200m in less than 6 minutes (Any stroke, or a mixture of strokes, can be used)
- Swim 50m breaststroke
- Swim 25m sidestroke
- Retrieve objects from the deepest part of the pool (depth varies across centres)
- Tread water for 5 minutes
To be a lifeguard, you will need a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and a First Aid certificate.
These trainings will be provided at no cost for suitable candidates.
You will need to be available for the lifeguard training from 16 October to 27 October or 13 November to 25 November (Weekdays 8:30am - 4pm) at West Wave.
We are looking for someone that has:
- Proven administration and communication skills,
- Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Excellent communication skills, maturity, and reliability
A Full driver’s license and own vehicle are required as you will be working on a variable roster (fortnightly changes) from 5am to 10pm.

Pay rate: Starting $27.27 per hour
