He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Our Environmental Monitoring monitor compliance with resource consents to avoid, remedy or mitigate any adverse effects a project may have on the environment. You will be given the opportunity to shadow our staff, gaining valuable exposure to high-risk and complex projects across the region, and be given your own work packet of lower risk sites to work through on their own.

You’ll be placed in one of our five teams across the region and provided with a positive, supportive environment where you’ll be encouraged to learn, grow, and contribute. Many of our previous interns have returned to us after graduating to begin their careers.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You are enthusiastic about learning how national and local govt environmental legislation is implemented to ensure projects and activities across Auckland are undertaken in a responsible manner.

You have a keen interest in the environmental impacts of development in Auckland and are motivated to gain practical experience in this area.

To apply you must:

  • Be in your penultimate year studying towards a relevant Bachelor's degree, or continuing into a Master’s level of study in 2026.
  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand full-time from November 2025- February 2026
